How Do I Get a New Hairline?

The facts surrounding your hairline start off the way many famous lines do: There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that, if you are looking for a new hairline, you have probably not been blessed genetically with a good one. The good news is that there are many measures to take that can help restore or aesthetically change your hair and hairline.

A good hair day can help leverage a person to a state of great confidence, while a nest atop one's head may leave others shaking theirs. Some people are predisposed to have an unfair amount of good hair days, while the rest of us struggle to look publicly presentable. The hairline is certainly an important aspect of one's appearance and can be defined as the point at which the hair begins on the forehead. If a hairline is too low, it can resemble a prehistoric caveman, and if too high, it may resemble a fast-maturing modern man.

Getting a new hairline can be done in a number of ways. These methods primarily fall into one of two categories: actually acquiring a new hairline and cosmetically appearing to have a new hairline. Surgical interventions are usually costly, time-consuming, but long lasting. They may require initial consultations and reoccurring treatments in timed intervals. This is a small price to pay for some, however, who have experienced the physical change that occurs during hair loss.

There are also other fixes, like wearing a wig or shaving. In the case that your hair line is too low, shaving may create a new hairline above the original line. Shaving must be done regularly to prevent the appearance of revealing stubble. Wigs can be expensive, and the drastic change they make deters some users as the presence of a new hairline becomes too obvious. There are also a number of shampoos that claim to thicken hair, helping the cause of a thinning hairline.

Until you experience the loss of hair for yourself, it may be difficult to empathize with the population that has gone through this burdensome endeavor. Hair loss can be caused by hormonal levels, accident, or medical treatment. Regardless of the cause, the effect is consistent, and many men and women struggle with the idea of an altered facial feature. The great news is that ongoing research is being applied to this field in the hopes of keeping us all beautiful for the rest of our lives.

@turkay1-- My boyfriend had transplants and he didn't have much pain.

They give anesthesia during the procedure, so you won't feel any pain then. My boyfriend had some pain the day after the procedure but he had pain relievers so it wasn't that bad. The pain was gone completely in a few days.

I think if you work with a good doctor, you won't have any problems. Hair transplant is the best way to get a new hairline. It takes a while for the new hair to grow but at least it's permanent and no one will know that you had it done.

I want to get hair transplants for a new hairline but I'm scared about the procedure. I saw a video of it and it looks like it hurts! The scalp bleeds as the hair is transplanted.

Has anyone here had this procedure?

I see advertisements on TV all the time for products that create the appearance of a new hairline. Some of them are sprays, others are powders or makeup like products.

I saw an advertisement for a powder like product just the other day. They sprinkled the brown colored powder to fill in the bald spots at the top of the hair to create the appearance of more hair and a lower hairline. It actually looked pretty good.

At the same time though, this product would have to be applied every morning and I don't know if it would fall off the head throughout the day.
